Square kitchen design functionality
In order to make the best use of the narrow space, we decided for a square kitchen island positioned by the wall, because it offers maximal work space and freedom of movement. Between the island and the wall made of soffit concrete appears a functional corridor, which offers enough storage space for keeping all that is needed - of course designed according to the standard dimensions. On the side facing the kitchen unit, we can find the BORA Professional cooker hood with an induction wok and induction cooktop, which facilitates any movement between the cooking and sink areas. The GAGGENAU wall steam-oven completes the above standard technical equipment. The back side of the island provides enough storage space, perhaps even working space for other persons. The refrigerator represents the only piece of “upright” furniture, which is striking thanks to its wooden battens on stainless-steel sheathing. In addition to solid smoked oak and solid hot-rolled steel, we also used light Corian, which makes the kitchen visually bigger in combination with the clean lines. Thanks to the bespoke designed furniture by the married architect Annika Brenzinger-Bartelt and Harald Bartelt and other furnishings, we achieved to create a coherent and individual living space.
